About the class
Slow, simple movement at your own pace
The teacher starts with breathing and a few easy movements in a chair or on a mat, then some slow standing work, and finishes with quiet minutes lying or sitting down.
There is nothing to keep up with. Every movement has a smaller version, and chairs, blocks and blankets are always within reach.
The class
45 minutes in five parts

Arrive
Five minutes to find a mat or a chair, take off your shoes and sit quietly while everyone settles.

Move
About half an hour of slow movement, seated and standing, led step by step. Go as far as feels right and no further.

Chairs and mats
Every movement can be done in a chair. Swap between the chair and the mat whenever you like.

Taking a pause
Rest whenever you need to. Sit, lie down or simply watch for a while; nobody will ask why.

Close
Ten quiet minutes lying or sitting down to finish, then tea if you would like to stay.

Eight people, slow movement and plenty of room. Nobody is watching, and there is nothing to keep up with.

Included in the class
Everything you need is here. Bring a water bottle if you like.
Soft blankets for the quiet minutes at the end of the class.
A pot of caffeine free tea in the quiet room if you would like to stay.
Not included
For now the class of eight is the only way to move with us.
We don’t sell anything in the studio.
Questions
Good to know
The questions people ask before their first class. Anything else, just ask.
No. The class suits people who have never done anything like it, as well as those who have.
Comfortable clothes in layers, and socks. Shoes stay by the door.
Tell the teacher before the class starts. Every movement has a smaller or seated version, and if you are unsure, check with your GP first.
Eight places at most, so there is room for everyone and the teacher has time to help.
Pair it with
Stay on after the class: a quiet ritual is half an hour of tea and calm, and a massage is never far away.
