Two hands pressing slowly into a back under a pale sheet

An unhurried hour, at the pressure you ask for

You lie down on a warm table under a blanket, and we start wherever you would like us to start. Tell us what feels tight or tired and how firm you like it. We check in as we go, and you can ask for lighter or firmer at any time.

Afterwards there is no rush to sit up. Take a few minutes, then a glass of water or a cup of tea in the quiet room before you go.

What happens

  1. Two people's hands meeting round a small white cup of tea

    Talk it through

We start with a few minutes sitting down together: what you would like from the hour, how firm you like it, and anything we should know, such as an injury or a health condition.

  2. A woman lying back with her eyes closed, a hand resting on her shoulder

    Settle in

Get comfortable under a warm blanket, dressed or undressed as you prefer. Only the part we are working on is uncovered.

  3. Both hands working slowly along the thigh of someone lying on a soft mattress

    The massage

Slow, steady work, with warm oil where it suits, unscented if you prefer. Ask for lighter or firmer at any time.

  4. A woman lying still with her eyes closed in a pale room

    Rest

When the massage ends we leave you to lie still for a few minutes. There is no need to get up straight away.

  5. Two hands holding a small clay bowl of tea against a linen robe

    Afterwards

Sit a while in the quiet room with a glass of water or a cup of tea, and leave when you are ready.

Who you’ll see

Your massage therapist

Your therapist works slowly and listens. They ask about injuries or health conditions before you start, and may suggest you check with your GP first.

You are always welcome to ask a question, or to say stop.

60 or 90 minutes

Sixty minutes is enough for the back, neck and shoulders. Ninety gives the whole body time, without hurrying any of it.

How the 60 minutes go

  1. Arrive 5 min

Shoes off by the door, then take a seat.

  2. Talk it through 5 min

What you would like, and anything we should know.

  3. Massage 45 min

Back, neck and shoulders, or wherever you choose.

  4. Rest and tea 5 min

A few still minutes, then tea in the quiet room.

How the 90 minutes go

  1. Arrive 5 min

Shoes off by the door, then take a seat.

  2. Talk it through 5 min

What you would like, and anything we should know.

  3. Massage 75 min

The whole body, with extra time where you need it.

  4. Rest and tea 5 min

A few still minutes, then tea in the quiet room.
